Time Out says

For the first time, local AAPI teens are hosting the AAPI Children's Literary Festival on Saturday, May 11 on the Upper East Side. Asia Society is hosting the event with The Culture Tree.

The event includes readings, book signings, a writing workshop, an illustration workshop, and a cooking demo.

"Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) are an integral part of the American cultural mosaic and the group encompasses a wide range of traditions, identities, and cultures," event organizers say. "The festival will serve as a unique gathering place for writers, illustrators, publishers, and fans of AAPI literary works."

Each child will receive a sketchbook and drawing kit. In addition to the activities, the organization's store will be packed with AAPI titles for kids.
